From Community Organizer's Desk
Ben Hunter, my predecessor, wrote that his “… personal goal for 2009 is to involve more of our village populace (around 10,000) in making a better Oakland Mills!” I concur.
A 2007 survey of Oakland Mills residents resulted in a mere twenty percent (20%) of residents having “an overall positive feeling about the community.” Twenty eight percent (28%) of the respondents felt “much more positive” about living in Oakland Mills than they felt in 2005, forty five percent (45%) “somewhat more positive.” What can we do to increase those percentages? Get you involved!!! We need your time, your talent, your participation, and your willingness to become involved and reinvolved in your community.
We need additional Street Captains.
We need your attendance at Jazz in the Mills in February 2010.
We need your input, comments and suggestions.
Make a change for a better Oakland Mills today; contact Dorita Forehand or 410.730.1129 for ways to get involved!
